Frequently asked questions
What is a bid/no-bid decision?
Deciding before you spend hours on a proposal whether a contract is winnable and profitable for you. Distance, eligibility, time to prepare and competition matter most for small service firms.
How is the score calculated?
Up to 3 points for set-aside fit, 3 for distance inside your travel radius, 2 for enough time before the deadline and 2 for a notice that's accepting bids now. Contracts you're not eligible for, or that are far outside your radius, are a no-bid.
Should I bid on a contract that scores 5?
Maybe. A 5–7 is worth a look: read the scope of work and check the price you'd need. Below 5, your time is usually better spent on stronger matches.
